It’s been a while since my last post and I’m sorry about that. I’ve been on the shelf recovering from hernia surgery earlier this month. My doctor said I’d feel “great” in three to four days. Well, all I say is it’s been 19 days and I’m still pretty far from “great,” but I’m happy to be on the road to recovery.
I hope you enjoy the pre-op photo. It’s me with my boy, Piggy. I know what you’re thinking … ‘Why is a 38-year-old guy cuddling with a stuffed pig before surgery?’ Well, the answer is simple, it’s what Piggy and I do; it’s our thing.
He’s been with me through all of my surgeries since I was a kid: hamstring lengthening (one and two), heel cord lengthening, abductor lengthening, having my legs & feet broken/realigned and everything in between – we’ve seen it all. So, when my mom brought him to the hospital for our latest adventure, I was thrilled to have him by my side.
I love Piggy because he’s proof that friends come in all shapes sizes.
Here’s hoping everyone spends this holiday season in the company of family and friends. And if you celebrate Christmas, make it merry and remember the true reason for the season!
HAPPY HOLIDAYS from the entire brettapproved crew! Piggy too 🙂
